Intro to MC 2020: Part 1 an intro to the new Select Project window

- [Illustrator] With the release of Media Composer 2020.4, we got a new select project window. This is the first window that you get when you load up Media Composer. We'll be going into detail on all of the important settings and controls in this window throughout these two courses. And at the beginning of each chapter, I'll be choosing different projects to open. The major difference between this version of the Slack project window in Media Composer 2020 and the version in 2019 is that you now get thumbnails for your projects. Up at the top of this window, you've got a projects button, so you can see the existing projects on the system. And there's a new project button where you can create a new project. Again, we'll go into all of these details later. I just want to draw your attention to the new appearance of this window. If you are using Media Composer 2020. And of course, there's just one question I need to answer right away, which is how do you set this thumbnail. I'll go into a project that I've already got on the system here by double clicking it. And in this project, I've got a couple of windows where I can see my media content. If you see a frame in either of these windows that you'd like to use as the thumbnail, you can right click and choose save as project poster frame. If I now close the project, I'm going to file and I'm choosing close project. You can see that thumbnail now appears, and you can update that thumbnail at any time that you find it useful.
