- So far, we've been making selections in sequences by clicking on clip segments using the smart tool. And we can either use the yellow extract splicing mode, or the red lift override mode, and we can use the shift key to make multiple clip selections. But there is another way, and it's quite a subtle aspect of the Media Composer interface. It involves lassoing, and it's quite a subtle part of the Media Composer interface, so just watch this a little bit carefully, because the direction in which you lasso changes the result in Media Composer. First of all, if you want to lasso without using a modifier key, you need to click somewhere beyond the existing tracks. So, I've got a bit of a space here. I'm just going to resize my timeline a tiny bit. I've got a little bit of space above my timeline tracks, and let's say I want to select this group of clips right here, without clicking and clicking and clicking. Well, I'm going to deselect, and I'm going to lasso from outside of the tracks…
