Maintaining sync when splicing in clips
- [Instructor] I want to highlight an important distinction in the way that we are editing clips into this sequence. It's a very early stage, we've just got two main shots and a cutaway to a piece of dialogue. And we've just edited this 7_32_3 clip into the sequence. The method I used to add this clip was a Splice-In edit. And this means that items are pushed out of the way when you add the clip to the sequence. We're going to look at a different method in a few moments which is described as an Overwrite edit, which does not push clips out of the way. Most of the time when you're building a sequence in the beginning you're going to use the Splice-In method. And that's because you want to shuffle everything around and build the puzzle that is your sequence. But there is probably just one main risk when you use this method.
