- While the quick transition dialogue gives us limited control over our transition effects, there's a dedicated effect editor in Media Composer, that you're going to become very, very familiar with. It's the go-to place to adjust the settings for your effects. Just going to cancel out of this for a moment. I'm in the "Meet the Effect Editor" sequence and I've got my playhead lined up over our dip to color transition effect and I've got my video 1 track turned on. I'm going to click on the third button down here, in this series of buttons on the timeline. You'll notice we've got the same button up here on the composer window. Actually we've also got it on the top of the timeline as well. And, if we wanted to, we could set up multiple keyboard shortcuts. You could see there are really many piles up the mountain with Media Composer. And I'm going to click this button and when I do, whichever is the topmost selected track on the timeline is used as the reference to go into the Effect…
