Monitoring video tracks

- [Instructor] Media Composer includes a very particular type of control over the video tracks that you can see. The far left of the Timeline window, just to the right of these track selection buttons, we have a series of monitoring buttons for our video tracks. Unlike the track selection buttons that you can turn off and on individually, you can only have one of these switched on at a time. The topmost selected track is the one that you will see, plus any tracks under it. So for example, right now I've got video three monitored. And of course there's nothing on the video three track so I'm seeing the next item down, which is on the video two track. If I monitor the video two track, I see that and everything under it. But if I only monitor the video one track, I see it and nothing else. There's nothing on that video one track so of course I get a blank screen.
