Mouse jog and mouse shuttle
- You have probably noticed the mouse job and mouse shuttle buttons that have appeared in the composer window while in trim mode. Let's take a quick look at what they do. I'm going to click to go into our trim mode here in the timeline window. We have these two buttons right here at the bottom left. Mouse jog turns the mouse itself into a job controller. So if I move to the right (inaudible slow motion sound) or move to the left (inaudible slow motion sound) I can hear the audio from one side of the edit and I can selectively reposition these trim rollers. This mode actually works during normal playback as well but you'd have to enable it using the command pallette or adding a keyboard shortcut. You can pause this mode by double clicking with the mouse or by pressing the space bar. And we're back to the regular cursor. You can press the escape key as well and it'll switch back to viewing the source monitor and composer monitor. That just takes you out of trim mode. Back in trim mode we also have a mouse shuttle option. And so if I click this button we get multiple speeds of playback. It takes some pretty subtle movement of a mouse to control this. (fast-paced inaudible audio) But if you have a depth hand you may find it just ideal.
