Rearranging with Lift and Overwrite
- [Instructor] If I now switch to our Lift Overwrite mode with the segment tool here, of course, moving clips around now is not going to change the timing of my sequence. I can take this clip and again, I'll hold Ctrl or Command to snap to the beginning of the sequence, release the mouse, and I've got a gap left behind, and the newly positioned clip at the beginning of the sequence. But there's a new kind of danger when dragging in this way. And that danger is that I, of course, have now overwritten the first part of this 6_39_2 clip. It's completely gone from the sequence. If I want to, I can easily trim, which we'll be looking at shortly, to restore that part of the clip segment. But it's definitely not there now. And of course, where the clip was in the sequence is blank space. I've got video filler and audio filler. Just one tiny detail of note here, there was an edit right here in this audio clip, the audio filler…
