Removing material with the Extract tool

- [Narrator] We could reasonably say that the lift edit is the equivalent to an override edit. Override adds content, replacing whatever's in the sequence and not moving anything around. And a lift removes content, again, not moving anything around. It just erases that part of the sequence. So the reciprocal edit to splicing is the extract. And I'm going to illustrate that with the repetition of the dialogue that we have a little bit later in this sequence. Let's have a quick listen. - If the man doesn't want it, he doesn't have to take it. - It's the semis, Ivan, we'll miss kickoff. - [Ivan] Listen, if the man doesn't want it, he doesn't have to take it. - [Narrator] So I think we could reasonably lose pretty much all of this dialogue.
