Selectively viewing tracks
- [Instructor] When working on multilayer sequences, it can be a little difficult to locate the content that you're looking for in amongst the various layers. How can you be sure which one of these, for example, is which in the timeline window? You can use the monitoring button here to selectively choose the topmost track that's visible, but you can also solo tracks as well. If you control or command click on a track monitoring button, you'll exclusively view the contents of that track. This is great if you're working on projects with complex graphics and titles overlaid on the screen 'cause it can make it a little difficult to adjust the timing of your action when you've got those layered items in position. By soloing your video track in this way, you can just identify which clip is which, and either work on it directly or click again with the control or command key to restore the regular monitoring mode. But now you know which track has the clip that you're looking for. Again, you can just click on the monitoring button and choose the topmost track that's visible, or control or command click to only see the contents of the track.
