- [Instructor] Sub clips are a convenient way for you to organize your media. This particularly useful if you've got very long clips, I don't have many super long clips in this project but I do have a clip with a couple of different sections. I've got this 732 two shot open in my source monitor to create a sub clip. You mark the section that you're interested in let's take this from the beginning and up to the halfway mark, that's the end. And then simply drag from the source monitor into a bin. You'll notice that the word sub is added to the clip name and I'm going to add another one. I'm going to mark an in point and an out point and drag that into the bin as well. So far, these look just like copies of the clip. But if I go to the text view you'll see that we've now got two items with separate styles of icon at the top of the bin, these sub clips have a total duration that's equal the part that was selected.
