Transcode media
- [Instructor] Transcoding allows you to create new copies of your media at a new resolution, at a new location. You can specify a new format and choose whether you're going to create the new media in DNxHD 115 or 145 and so on. Before I get into the transcode dialog, I want to show you an important option in the Format section of the project window. Right now, we're operating a 720p, because that's what our original media is, and there's no real need for us to work at higher resolution. Notice that in our Raster Dimension, we've got the option to work at the lower horizontal resolution of 960x720. This just reduces the burden for visual effects rendering and may be the image resolution of your original media, if you're working with some camera types. If I switch this Presets menu over to our Ultra HD resolution, you'll notice that that menu changes to Proxy.
