- [Narrator] Now let's try transcoding a clip rather than consolidating. And to demonstrate this, I'm just going to pick one of these clips, and transcode it because in another lesson, we're going to transcode a sequence, and I want you to see how the result compares. So with this clip selected, I'm going to go to the clip menu and I'm going to choose consolidate transcode. This is the same as right clicking. And this time, I'll choose the transcode option, and we get a few more menus popping up. Again, I'll make sure my media drive is selected and we have a similar option at the top transcode only link media that's fine, and now we can specify the raster dimensions. This is the image resolution. We're not working in proxy mode right now with very low resolution media files to temporarily edit with, instead I'm going to go with the source dimensions, which is maintaining the original resolution of my media.
