Trim with the keyboard

- [Instructor] Ask any experienced avid editor, and they will tell you that the real difference in performance as an editor in Media Composer comes down to using the keyboard. And of course, in trim operations, there're lots of keyboard shortcuts available. First of all, if I go up into my settings in the user category and into keyboard and hold down the Shift key, you can see that the Shift D and Shift F keys will give you access to the override or splicing trim modes. So if I just close this down, you can see if I press Shift D, and toggling the read mode off and on, as toggle off the yellow mode with Shift F. So Shift D toggles read mode off and on, and Shift F toggles yellow mode off and on. Remember, the slightly darker gray indicates that the button is on. And if you have both modes on, then you're in the Smart Tool mode where the upper part of the clip gives you one mode and the lower part gives you another.…
