Viewing the Matte channel

- [Instructor] In amongst the various controls available in the Spectrum app effect, we've got lots of options to adjust and improve the selection that we've made, to really help us blend the foreground with the background in this composition. We can adjust the selection of color and we can squeeze and expand and control the shape of the resulting matte channel. We can also remove unwanted green reflections from our foreground subject. And we'll get to lots of these in the following lessons. But of these controls, probably the most important option is this one right near the top show alpha. Lemmie talk about the color channels for pixels. We often speak in terms of red, green, or blue color channels or the YUV color channels that measure luminance, and then usually these days, the blue with the luminous removed and the red with the luminance removed and the green is calculated.
