Using the Note Separation tool and Separation Type tool
- [Voiceover] The note separation tool is another indispensable tool in Melodyne. Let's select it using one of the methods we've covered. I'll use the default shortcut, F6. With this tool, just double click to add note separations and double click again to remove a note separation. This can be really useful for rhythmic alterations, but it's also incredibly important in the pitch editing process. For example, you may want to split a note blob into smaller sections in order to more precisely position the pitch and rhythm of each of those smaller sections. For example, let's zoom in here. Let's say I wanted this to be two separate notes. I could separate them and edit them independently. Note that when using this tool for note separations, the note blobs will visibly jump when the separations are made. However, these jumps are purely visual and they're merely intended to show you that the pitch center has been recalculated as a result of the separation. No actual change to the pitch…
