Capturing a scan

- In this video, we'll capture our scan. Get your volunteer seated and in position and point your sensor in their general direction. You'll notice a few things. In the upper righthand corner, you can see both the view from the VGA camera and the infrared sensor. Below these views is the preview window. The green in our preview indicates the correct distance for proper focus. So adjust the distance of your sensor to get your subject in the green zone. If you zoom in closer, you can check the bounding box. You want your subject to fill the bounding box. If you need to make it larger to capture more of their body, or want to make a smaller, more detailed scan of their face, you can return to the prepare tab. Everything is in focus and ready to go, so let's start scanning. Since we're talking about scanning a person, you'll want to capture their face first. Then avoid capturing the face again as they spin around. You can set the delay to give yourself some time to set up. And the countdown begins when you click record. Have your subject spin themselves slowly. Everything in green is in focus and being captured accurately. If you lose tracking, stop for a moment and either return your scanner to its proper position or the subject to their previous position. Use the ghosted image to help you. The scanner will begin scanning again once it finds where you left off. As your subject completes their turn, try to avoid capturing their face the second time. Grab the sensor and move it so you can see the top of their head. When you're confident you've gotten the full scan, select done and wait for the scan to compute. Now that the scan is complete, let's explore some post processing in Skanect.
