Uploading and ordering a design with Shapeways
- Now let's upload our design to Shapeways and order a 3-D print of our scan. Shapeways is a commercial 3-D printing platform and market place. In addition to uploading and ordering designs, you can also sell your designs or buy copies of other designs. Let's get started by signing in. Click in the upper, right hand corner and enter your credentials. Choose sign in. Let's go to the design tab. We'll choose upload. I'm going to select our file. It's located in the chapter five of our exercises folder. It's the Person.wrl. I'll choose open. Note that millimeters is chosen as my model units. When your working with .wrl files with texture maps you always want to use meters as your model units, but millimeters is fine with a perver-dex color. I'll choose upload. Our model has finished uploading. Scroll down to the bottom of the page here to see the various materials and whether this model has passed checks for a variety of them.
