Basic vs.advanced workflows in Metashape

- [Instructor] In this video, we'll cover some of the key differences between a basic and an advanced workflow in Metashape. In another chapter, we covered an example workflow for doing basic photogrammetry in Metashape, and that would include a process like you see here in this flowchart, where we would import photos, we may optionally estimate the image quality of those photos, align those photos in space, use that alignment to build a dense cloud and depth maps, then use either the dense cloud or the depth maps to build a polygon mesh. From there, we could build out a texture image, and if we needed to, we could export the model and/or the texture. So that example basic workflow is fairly linear. The one place where we do have some options is estimating the image quality. We could do that and work right through the steps, or we could skip it and just jump straight from importing to aligning without estimating image…
