- [Instructor] Some types of detail are difficult or impossible to capture with photogrammetry. After watching this video, you'll be able to identify more easily forms that lend themselves well to photogrammetry and those that don't. So let's talk about some general classes of shapes and textures that can be difficult to capture with photogrammetry. First off, small occlusions. These are things like tree branches in the example photo here, that overlap and cross with each other and are very small. These are really hard for the photogrammetry software to detect, both where they are spatially, so which branches are in front of ones in the back as well as being able to differentiate one from another to begin with. Oftentimes there just won't be a high enough resolution in the photos to really distinguish one branch from another. In a similar fashion, hair is notoriously difficult to capture using photogrammetry.…
