- [Instructor] Now let's take a look at how to use the align elements by edge command. Continue using the file for chapter six, manipulatebasicgeometry.dgm. Using view group select the align model. Using the manipulate tool box I will select the align element by edge command, this command allows me to modify existing elements and align them in either a horizontal or vertical direction or to each other. As an auto cad user I know you will love how simple this command is compared to what we have to do in auto cad to align objects. In this example I want to align all of the circles to a horizontal line using the top edge of the circles. So using the tool settings dialogue I will set the align method to top, next I can select the base element for the horizontal line and then select a circle to align.
