Creating the shaft and key
- [Narrator] Now that we've finished the base and pin our last part that will be creating is the shaft and key. We will do those both together in one 3D file. So I've already saved out the shaft and key file. Let's go ahead and delete our base and pin drawing. This one will also just consist of two primitive shapes, one cylinder and then a slab feature. So I am going to start with the cylinder feature. So let's go down to feature modeling, cylinder feature and will set up the radius and heighth. So the radius for this has a total diameter of .5 so the radius is .25 and the heighth will be .775 and then we'll keep with design Z for our axis. So we'll just click then click a second point to place the cylinder. So now that we have the cylinder feature created let's go ahead and do the key part. So I can use my view two for this. So what I am going to do is create a slab feature and then make a copy of it because we have to create a cut for where the key would be placed. Normally these…
