- [Instructor] Continue using the file for chapter four, Advanced AccuDraw Techniques dot dgn, and using view groups, select the cross section model. This exercise will demonstrate how to draw a cross section with distances and slope angles. When using this method, the rectangular or square compass must be used to calculate the slope angles. Select the smart line command and issue a data point in the view window to start the cross section. Drag the cursor in the X direction and key in the distance of eight feet. Do not accept it. Drag the cursor in the Y direction and key in a distance of eight feet times 0.07 for the 7% grade. And left click to accept. Use the V shortcut to realign the compass and drag the cursor in the X direction and key in a distance of 26 feet. Again, drag the cursor in the Y direction and key in a distance of 26 feet times 0.02 for the 2% slope and left click to accept.
