- [Instructor] Continue using the file for chapter seven, Modifying Basic Geometry.dgn. And using View Group, select the EXTEND Elements model. Next I will select the Extend Line command. This command allows me to extend the line by selecting one end or the other. And it just lengthens the line according to the distance I enter, or I can issue a data point to define the distance graphically. When I select the line, the AccuDraw compass is automatically applied at the opposite end of the line, so I can key in a total length. If I want the line to be exactly 100 feet, I can key in 100 feet and left-click to accept. I have extended it 100 feet from the compass location. If I turn on the From End option in the tool settings dialog and now I select the line, the AccuDraw compass will stay at the selected end and allow me to extend the line by a specific distance.
