- [Instructor] In this exercise I want to rotate the view to an element by using the RE shortcut to rotate the compass and then use the RV rotate view shortcut to rotate the view to the compass. Continue using the file for chapter three basic 2D commands dot dgn and using view group select the rotate view model. Before I start, I want to change my default snap mode back to keypoint. I will use the shift plus right click to access the snaps right click menu and I will keep holding down the shift key while I select the keypoint snap mode to make it permanent. First, I need to select a command because I have to be in a command to use accudraw. I will select the smartline command. And I use control plus tentative to display the compass. If I hover on the main building, I can key in RE to rotate the compass to the angle of the main building. Now I can use the RV shortcut to rotate the view to match the compass. Pretty cool, right?
