Placing shapes
- Now let's take a look at how to work with the shape commands. Using the view groups, select the draw shape elements model. Here you can see the different types of shapes available in Microstation. The shapes section of the task navigation dialogue located in the drawing panel provides several different shape commands. The first command we will look at is the place block command This allows you to place an orthogonal block and if you look at the tool settings dialogue you can place a block using two methods, Orthogonal or Rotated. The field type allows you to fill the shape with a solid opaque fill color or you can use a fill color to select the color independently of the active color. Starting with the field type of none, I will start drawing a shape by issuing a left mouse click. Using AccuDraw you can control the size of the shape using either the square rectangle or the round polar compass.
