Relative input
- [Instructor] Now let's look at how to use relative precision input to create simple elements. Continue using the file for chapter three Basic 2D Commands.DGN and using view group select the precision input two model. Select the place block command. First, we need to locate the compass on the existing shape location that we want to input data from. I will tentative snap to the upper left corner of the L shape and key in O to define the reference point. Make sure that the AccuDraw dialogue is displaying x and y fields, so the compass should be square. If not, use the space bar to toggle the compass, if needed. Next, I will key in the P shortcut to open the data point key in dialogue, and change the method to delta D L equals to enter relative x and y distances from the existing shape. Key in the value of one and enter to input the data point in the positive x direction. The block shape starts one foot off the origin reference point.
