- [Instructor] Now, let's take a look at using the Scale Element command. Continue using the file for chapter six, Manipulate Basic Geometry.dgn. Using View Groups, select the SCALE model. The Scale Element command allows you to scale existing elements by an active scale or by three points. I will use the method Active Scale first and set the scale to .5, to scale the element in half. I will select the existing element using a left mouse click and then the command prompts me to define an origin point or the point to scale about. This second point is the critical one as it controls where the resulting element is placed. I will undo that using the shortcut key, Control + Z, for undo. Let's use the Copies option so that you can see the relationship of the new element to the old element.
