Selecting elements graphically

- Next we're going to use the selection tools in a real-world drawing. When I'm selecting elements in a real-world drawing, I'm going to want to be able to select things based on what they are, using their level, element type, and attribute settings. If you use the selection tool and you expand the element selection tool settings dialog, using that little black arrow, you'll notice that you have some tabs that allow you to select things using level, color, line style, or line weight. There's also a tab that allows you to select by element type. Now, in true MicroStation form, some of the settings that are available here are not turned on by default. I will right-click on any one of these tabs and here you will see that there are a lot of tabs that are not turned on. I recommend using the Show All option here so that all tabs become available.
