- In this exercise I want to demonstrate how to use multiple views in a 3D environment and how to use the Clip Volume tool to control what is displayed in each view. Open the file for chapter 3 using 3D Views.dgn. And using view group, select the 3D Views model. The Clip Volume tool is used to isolate a specific 3D area on the 3D model. For the purpose of viewing a specific portion of the model, I will access the Clip Volume command using the view controls at the top of the view window. Now using the Tool Settings dialog, I will select the Apply Clip Volume by 2 Points and uncheck the Display Clip Element option. I will draw a box around the left side of the 3D solid to define the clip volume. Then I will issue a data point anywhere in view two to apply that clip volume to view two. Next, I want to change the view display to display the model in a more solid appearance.
