Using ACS planes
- [Instructor] In this exercise we will work with how to use AccuDraw on non-orthogonal faces using auxiliary coordinate systems. Continue using the file for chapter three, basic 3D Commands.dgn. And using view groups select the 3D ACS model. The first thing I want to do is turn on the display of the ACS icon. Using the view attributes dialog turn on the ACS triad display. By default this icon displays at the 0, 0, 0 location in the model. So we can see that at the front of the part, and it is oriented on the base of the part. If I want to work on a specific plane in a 3D model, it is helpful to define an ACS plane that can be used for multiple commands and manipulations. For this first ACS I want to define the front plane of the part. To demonstrate this I need to change the current ACS to the front plane. I won't use the RA shortcut to define the front ACS since I think that requires too many steps to define. It requires that I define the x, the y, and the z axis when using this…
