- MicroStation, like every other Windows application provides its own online help. Using the Help pull-down menu, the first thing I want to point out is the new Quick Start Guide. This will open up a PDF that will walk you through just some basic simple exercises that you can look through on your own. The Contents will open up the online help that is provided with the application. The Tool Index is a list of all the tools that are provided in the MicroStation environment. This is handy once you've learned some of the tools in MicroStation. It will help you find the exact help you're looking for, for example, if I go ahead and type in the LINE, here, as the filter and pick Apply, it will minimize the list to just those commands. If I type in TEXT and I pick Apply, I will see just the text commands, then I can go ahead and select one of the commands and it'll take me right to the online help. Once you're in the online help, you can even click the Use It button and it will take you back…
