- [Instructor] This exercise, we'll take a look on how to use the key-in browser to key in commands in MicroStation similar to using the command line in AutoCAD. Continue using the file for chapter one, Surviving the Interface.dgn. Next, let's take a look at another option for using key-in commands. I'm going to open the key-in browser dialog using the help pull-down menu. MicroStation provides this command-like dialog for typing in commands rather than selecting buttons. As an AutoCAD user you are probably very keyboard-oriented and prefer to key-in a lot of your common commands. This dialog is where you can do that. However, I must warn you that MicroStation key-in commands are quite long and probably not the most efficient way to use the application. Let's look at a quick example. I will select the Place Line command. And if you look at the tool settings dialog, you can see the command name is Place Line.
