Using the Origin shortcut

- The next feature to introduce is the Origin control. AccuDraw has a shortcut key, allowing you to define a temporary origin. Use the view groups to select the AccuDraw Origin model to use for construction and placement of elements. This temporary origin allows you to use Control-Delta distances from existing elements, and provides some really clever alignment methods. Whenever you see the AccuDraw compass, that is the origin that AccuDraw is going to work from. There are times when you will want to move the compass to a specific location for calculation purposes. To move the compass, you use the Origin shortcut. For this example, I want to start a line that's offset from the end or corner of an existing element. Now let's select the Place Line command and tentative-snap to the upper-right corner of the rectangle. Key in the shortcut O to move the AccuDraw compass to this location.
