Using Rotate Element
- [Instructor] Let's take a look at how to use the Rotate Element AccuDraw shortcut to align the compass with existing elements. Continue using the file for chapter three, Basic 2D Commands.dgn, and using View Groups, select the ROTATE ELEMENT 1 model. Again using the Task Navigation dialog, select the Line command and hover on an existing line element. I need to see a compass before I can control its orientation, and I can do that in a couple of ways. First, I can use the AccuDraw shortcut O to define a temporary origin. I will issue a tentative on the existing line element and key in O to activate the compass. By default, the compass is aligned with the view. Now I can key in RE to rotate the AccuDraw compass to an existing element where my cursor is currently hovering, or I can hover over another element and see the compass rotate to align with that element.
