Using the Scale Element command

- The next command to take a look at is the Scale Element command. Using View groups, open the Scale Elements model. The Scale Element command allows you to scale any existing elements by an Active Scale or by 3 Points. I will use the Active Scale first and set the scale to .5 to scale the element in half. I will select the existing element using the first left mouse click. Then the command prompts me to identify an origin point or the point to scale about. This second point is critical as it controls where the resulting element is placed. I will undo that command using the short-cut key CNTL + Z. Let's use the Copies command option so that you can see the relationship of the new element to the old element. I will select an element and then select the upper right corner of the shape to define the scale about or origin point.
