Using docking
- Now, let's talk about the different docking options that are available for some of the large dialogues that you use on a regular basis. I am going to open the Level Display dialogue using the primary toolbox. When you have a dialogue open in MicroStation and you drag it using the title bar, you will see that docking icons appear in the application window. If you look closely at the docking icons, you will see a blue hatch area on each icon. This represents the final location of the dialogue when docked using that icon. If I use the icons in the middle of the view window, you can see that the dialogue can be docked on all four edges of the view window. To undock a dialogue, just grab the title bar and pull it back in to the view window. There are also icons available on top of the Task Navigation area. These icons provide an additional icon which allows you to dock dialogues on top of each other to share the screen real estate. You can dock them side by side, above and below or on…
