Using level symbology
- Next, we'll take a look at changing the view of the levels using level symbology. Level symbology gives me the ability to change the look of the levels without actually changing the level definitions. Using the Level Manager dialogue, there is a level override available that allows every user to manage and change the appearance of the drawing for their specific use. For example, let's say I would like everything but the proposed road to be a thin gray line so that the new road components stand out against the existing background. To override the existing level definitions, I need to open up the Level Manager. When we reviewed the Level Manager dialogue previously, we were only looking at the ByLevel symbology settings. That means that any element put on the existing pavement level would be color 14, gray, a dash line type and a line weight 0. If I switch the Symbology setting to Override, you will notice that nothing is defined here. I can now change how the levels are displayed for…
