- [Instructor] In this exercise we will learn how to use the status bar to understand what steps are required when using commands in MicroStation. Many of the commands in MicroStation will perform the command steps opposite of those in AutoCAD. So be diligent about following the prompts in the status bar to know what your next step is. Continue using the file for chapter one Surviving the Interface.dgn. Now let's take a look at the status bar located at the bottom of the MicroStation window. The status bar is the gray bar all the way across the bottom. It contains the prompt field, the message center, the snaps, locks, and several other fields which we will be covering throughout this course. The prompt field tells you what you need to do next and it gives you continuous feedback about the command you are currently running.
