- You're going to be expected to know how to configure alert policies in the security and compliance admin center and to know the nuances of configuration. There's really no substitute for just putting your hands on this feature. We're going to talk a bit about the behind the scenes process in another video. But I'd like to give you a hands-on tour now. So I'm at protection.office.com. I'll expand alert and I'll click on alert policies. You'll find some existing alerts for various services. And when you dig into these, you won't find a lot that's revealing about their configuration. So it's best to just create your own new alert policy. And I'll just use a simple example that you can relate to, mass file deletion. I want to detect when a user, for some reason, deletes many files in a short period of time indicating potentially malicious activity. I'm going to call this a high severity alert.
