- [Instructor] Data validation is a powerful tool. It controls what goes into a worksheet. And with Microsoft 365, remember that's the renamed version of Office 365, you also have available additional functions that can make data validation be even more efficient. In this particular worksheet here, it's 742 rows. It's our master list of employees. What we'd also like to have here off to the right, and we can use it for a variety of purposes, a department list. And we can do this using a function called UNIQUE. Ultimately, all Excel users will have availability of the function called UNIQUE. Microsoft 365, Office 365, it's available. UNIQUE. And we're looking at all the data in column B. What we're trying to get here is a list of all the departments listed in column B but have each one appear once and only once. It goes down to row 742.
