- [Instructor] For most Excel users, 2 the most commonly used function is SUm. 3 We use it all the time. It's got a great keystroke shortcut. 4 It's shown on the screen here in the shadow box, alt equal. 5 There's also a button on the home tab. 6 Far right we've got auto SUM 7 and on the formulas tab up in the ribbon, far left auto SUM. 8 So if we want a total in G2, we could click auto SUM. 9 Looks good, press enter. 10 Another way to do this faster is simply 11 with the cell in place, double click auto SUM. 12 Another way to do this, cell B8. 13 I'll use the keystroke shortcut there. 14 Alt equal looks good, enter. 15 If we want totals here in rows 11 through 14. 16 For the data to the left, we could press either alt equal 17 or we could press the auto SUM button. 18 Same thing with the cells below it.
