- [Instructor] Excel's X lookup function is a powerful tool, 2 much more competent than V lookup, 3 and we're going to show you two different ways to use it. 4 Sometimes you want to gather information from different 5 cells and then look that information up in a list. 6 At other times, you might want to consider looking up 7 information out of a single column, 8 but then getting results from multiple columns. 9 Let's suppose that we want to find in this list here, 10 the first person that has the combination 11 of manufacturing full-time 12 and five, for department status and job rating. 13 The list is about 700 rows, columns A through H, 14 and we use X lookup right here, gathering together 15 that information that we're seeing just 16 above, in row two. Equal XL tab every time you're typing it, 17 do it that way, it's faster. 18 We're looking for the combination of manufacturing 19 and full-time and job rating, 20…
