- [Instructor] We've taken a look at the conversation feature, which is like a discussion board for a channel. Next, let's take a look at a way to communicate directly with someone or a group of people using the chat feature. On the left-hand side on the side navigation bar is the chat icon. I'm going to go ahead and click on that. Now this is my chat page. It's really empty right now but as the class gets started, this will be filled with communication. The chat feature allows you to have private conversations with your students or others in your organization. You'd use this in a situation where you want to communicate with someone, but you don't necessarily want to share it with everyone in the entire class. I like to think of this feature as a mix between text messaging and email.
