- [Narrator] Not every piece of communication that we do is with people who are in a team with us or people who are in a specific channel. Perhaps I need to have a conversation with one person, or one or two people, and it doesn't belong in any particular channel. Use the Chat button to be able to have conversations with people outside of the channels. So, if I wanted to have a chat with Reggie Tupp, I could do that. Now, Reggie's offline right now. So, even though Teams is great for synchronous communication, if I message Reggie right now, I shouldn't expect anything back. It's easy enough for me to see whether somebody is online or offline, by simply pointing to their name or their icon. And from here I can either click in the message box, or I can click down below, and say, (keyboard clicking) "Reggie, ping me when you're available.
