Sharing a Teams conversation to Outlook

- [Instructor] In the second half of 2019, Microsoft announced some new integrations between Microsoft teams and Microsoft outlook. One of those integrations has been rolled out already, and I'm going to show you. And then there are others that are on the way, and may indeed have been rolled out to you by the time you view this course. But the integration that's here now is the ability to send someone who's not part of a channel, not part of a team, a specific conversation. So I'm going to send this conversation. Does anybody have old marketing materials to share to Charles Woodwick? I'm going to click the more options button, choose share to outlook. Dialogue box opens your conversation over email, outlook on the web fires up. And I'm going to send this to Charles Woodwick. And I can add more information in this message. Can you help with this Gini? And it does not only include the original post from Nick, but two replies it came from Simon. I'm going to send this. And let's go see how this looks when Charles receives it. Here's Charles email, he's using outlook on the web. Here's the email, my text and the original posts from Nick and the two replies. Now, Charles can click go to teams, but he's not a member of the residential sales team. So it will take him to teams, but it will not take him to this specific conversation because he's not a team member. On the other hand, if I had sent this to someone who was a member of this team, if they click go to teams, it will take them directly to this conversation. But the typical use for this is not to send it to someone who's on the team, but to send it to someone who is not on the team. From here, Charles can choose to reply, and he will be replying to me. The other pieces of integration that are rolling out now, albeit a bit slowly, include the ability to share outlook email back to teams to a specific channel. And in preview, the button is a share to teams button on the home tab of the outlook ribbon at the far right side. Next, when you miss a team's activity, there'll be an actionable email sent to outlook. So, if for example, I was mentioned in a conversation while I wasn't logged into teams, I would receive an email that would allow me to reply in outlook without having to fire up teams. And finally, the last integration point is called Tasks in Teams. Will be a new tab called tasks added to teams that will give you a singular view of Microsoft to do, any two do's that you have in a channel in teams. Items that you need to do in planner, and your tasks from Microsoft outlook.
