- [Instructor] Microsoft Teams is organized with teams and channels. A team is a group of people who work together as well as their content like files and apps. Teams can be private or public up to 10,000 members currently and if your organization allows, a team can also include external members, for example, a vendor that's working on a project with you. Channels are inside of teams. All conversations take place, not in a team, but in a channel. Channels are used to organize the team's work. For example, channels can be topical. Channels can be used for file sharing. So if a group is working on project X, the files for project X are included in the channel. By default channels are open to the entire team but if you have a need for a subgroup or a private group within the team, you can create a private channel.
