Add H5P content to your course

- [Instructor] H5P which is an abbreviation for HTML5 package allows you to create more interactive content in your Moodle courses. The good news is that it can now be integrated into Moodle resources. And when created as an activity, the responses can be automatically entered into the grade book. Let's take a look at where you can add H5P content in Moodle. So right now I'm in my course. And I'm going to scroll down and click on Add an activity or resource. Now, from here, I'm going to select one such as page. Now here, I can name my page, give a description. And then, this is where I begin creating it. You'll notice that in the text editor in the top right, up here I have an option for H5P. So, I can insert H5P content. I'll click on that. Browse files. And then I do have on my server file that I'd like to use here. So this is to insert a multiple choice H5P file. I'll rename that and then insert that in there. So that's how I add a content to that resource. Now, I want to back out of here. And go back to my course and take a look at how we can add H5P content as its own activity. So, I'll click again on Add activity or resource. And then from underneath the activities, you'll see the option for H5P. When I click on this, it brings me to the page where I can begin creating it. I'll title this one Communication Process. I can give a description if I want. Here I'm going to select the file. And you will need to have H5P files that you can access. Here on my server, I do have one that I want to use. I'll click here. Add that in there. Now below this, you can decide on some H5P options such as allowing downloading and embedding. You can take a look at how you want to grade it. Are you going to grade it at all? In this case, I'm not going to. But if you wanted to, you could add that in there. If you want to allow multiple attempts and so on. Now, when I'm done, I'll click Save and display. And we can take a look at this HTML5 content. This one happens to be a drag and drop activity. So, quickly I'll drag some of these in here. And when I'm done, I'll hit Check. And it's letting me know that I got a five out of five. So, I get that instant feedback from right inside here. Now, H5P content can be created, stored, and edited inside of the course content bank. So, in any course that you're in, on the navigation bar on the left-hand side, if you scroll down, you'll see Content bank. I'm going to go ahead and click on that. And this takes me to my Content bank. Inside of here, I have some different ones that I have uploaded. I can click here Add to begin creating or editing different H5P elements and more. Now, this isn't something that everyone's going to utilize. But if you are interested in diving into this and creating some great interactive content, I recommend checking out the H5P.com website. There they even have a page specifically, for incorporating H5P with Moodle. Here's that page. And it gives you a ton of great information on exactly what you need to do. And also, what permissions you'll need to have in order to be able to utilize H5P content. You can also check this information out on moodle.org and read more about their H5P integration. I'm excited to dive into H5P even more. I'd also love to hear if you find great H5P resources that work especially well for you inside of Moodle. Take advantage of this and begin adding H5P elements to your course. If you're having any trouble adding the content, talk to your system administrator, and make sure that the account admin has configured the settings correctly.
