With the new Boost theme in Moodle 3.4, blocks are not as important as they have been in the past. You can still utilize blocks to create your course, but they will not be visible on the Moodle mobile version of your course.

First, I need to make sure that editing is turned on.…And currently it is.…And next, I can go over here to the left-hand menu.…Now remember in the boost theme that you do have the ability…to click on this three-lines icon,…and have that menu open up or close.…When it's open, I can scroll to the bottom…and click on Add a block.…From here, I'll add a block such as Calendar,…
