Base painting

- One of the easiest ways to start with texture painting in Mudbox is to simply create a base layer flooded with color. We can then extract a few maps as excellent starting points for laying out details. So we have our character, we've sculpted up a lot of different fine details on here. We have our base forms and structure going on, and then in the helmet, we've put in wood detail and some damage to the metal, and we've cracked up the horns a bit. Now it's time to put some color on this guy, get the texture painting process going to really kind of bring it to life. So, one of the things I want to point out before we get going, is that when you work with one object in Mudbox, it's fine to leave the default Material as it is and work with that. When you're working with multiple objects like we are in this scene, we want each object to have its own unique Material, and the basic reason for that is that if it's one Material applied to several objects, you're going to be overlapping to…
