From the course: From Excel to SQL
Moving from Excel to SQL
- We can all agree that Microsoft Excel is a powerful tool for manipulating and visualizing data. In fact, it's one of the most popular and important applications in business today. But what happens when the data you want is not stored in a spreadsheet? Where can you turn? If your data is stored in a database, you're going to need SQL to unlock it and get back the information you want. And that's what we're going to look at in this course. How you can make the transition from Excel to SQL. My name is James Parkin and I'm a software engineer with over 20 years of development experience working with many different types of data. In this course, you'll learn SQL the simple way. We'll take what you already know about Excel and translate it into this new language. Along the way, you'll learn how to find, filter, sort, and combine your data using SQL. By the end of this course, my goal is to help you feel confident enough to start using SQL with your own data. So if you're ready, let's start your transition from Excel to SQL.
